The thesis presents a methodical system of formation of ecological competence of secondary school students in Physics learning, which is built on the principles of person-activity, competence, axiological and systematic approaches. It was established that the ecological competence can be considered as substantive, interdisciplinary and key, because of its universal meaning and value to every person’s life. Environmentalizing of objectives, content and technology of school physical education was implemented.
As the leading environmental types of students’ ecological activity to ensure the effective formation of ecological competence in the study of physics, the analytical, predictive, estimates and research activities were defined. Their implementation in the study of Physics was implemented by involving students in such activities as forming and solving the physical problems and problems of ecological content; performing experimental studies; implementation of environmental projects in Physics; taking part in web quests, in business games, competitions, conferences, seminars, debates, quizzes, forums and events.
The criteria were explained and the indicators of methodical system efficiency in formation of ecological competence of secondary school students in teaching Physics were defined. Its effectiveness was proved experimentally.
